Q: What types of documents are kept in the Reference Collection? A: References collection mainly contains, encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries, directories, atlases, reports, manuals, audio, video, CD-ROMs and some rare collection Q: How can you distinguish reference books from other library collection? A: Reference books are marked "RR" on spine of the book. And “Not to be Issued” will stamp inside the book. Q: Does the Library have facilities to view video cassettes/ CD-ROMs? A: Yes, video cassettes/ CD-ROMs can be viewed in the Audio/Video room from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on all working days. Please contact to Librarian. Q: What type CD-ROM databases are available in the library? A: Search through online catalogue (OPAC) Q: Can I get the reference books issued? A: Reference books can be issued to all IIMT faculty & students for overnight only. After 6.30 PM can borrow the reference book. And return the same on next day morning 10 AM. If any student fails to return the books within prescribed period of time, late fee will charge Rs.50 per day per book. Q: How can I know the fine and borrowing status? A: You can know the fine and borrowing status through OPAC. Click on “Check out” available at left side of OPAC menu. After that students will enter Roll No. (Without first Zero) and IIMT staffs will enter Employee ID number. All students can see their late fee details on OPAC. Q: Can we refer the Dissertations/thesis/sample reports? A: The IIMT staffs, students and Faculty can refer the dissertations/thesis/ sample reports. Q: Can the dissertation/thesis/sample reports be issued? A: Dissertation/ sample reports/thesis are not to be issued to any one. These are only refer inside the library. Q: Is there a fine for late return of books? A: The late fees will charge to all students, if he/she fails to return the books within prescribed period of time. The late fee is Rs.10 per day per book. All students can see their late fee details on OPAC. Q: Where can I pay Library dues? A: Library dues (late fees/cost of books) can be paid in cash at Library Counter. Q: What are the issue/return timings in the Library? A: IIMT students can issue/return the books from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on all working days. No issue/return transactions on 2nd, 4th & 5th Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Q: Can I borrow the journals? A: No, you can’t borrow the journals from library. You can make photocopy of any journal articles on paid basis. Only IIMT faculty can borrow the back issues of the journals. Q: Can books be reserved if issued? A: Yes, all members of the Library can reserve the book through OPAC or at Library counter. Q: I have lost a book, what am I required to do? A: Immediately inform to the librarian about the book as lost through written application. The user will pay the double cost of the book or replace new copy the same book Q: If I do not get the book on shelve what can I do? A: You may contact to library staff available at library counter. Q: Can I bring my own book/issued book in the Library? A: No, you are not allowed to bring the personal/issued books inside the Library. First you return the issued book at counter, after that you use this book inside the library. Q: How can you help in visiting other important libraries? A: The Library will issue you an introductory letter that might help you to visit other Libraries. Q: Can the Library borrow documents from other libraries? A: Yes, the Library can arrange books and copies of articles on inter-library loan from other libraries, If the request is routed through Head of School/ Dean. Q: Is it accessible E-RESOURCES by all the users? A: Yes, all IIMT Student, faculty & staffs can access all E-Resources inside and out side IIMT Campus. For outside access, you should contact to Librarian. Q: If, I do not get access to a particular E-RESOURCE, whom should I contact? A: Please contact library staffs personally or through email/ phone for help. Q: If, I do not know how to use a particular E-RESOURCE , what can I do? A: Please contact library staffs personally or through email, phone. They will provide you assistance /help in using e-resource. |
