About Library
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is dedicated to the memory of late James W. Olson (Ex. Senior Vice President, Carlson Hotel Worldwide) without whose support the dream of the Shool of Hospitality & Tourism Management at IIMT would not have been realized. The state-of-art Learning Resource Centre (LRC) equipped with multimedia facilities is a student’s delight. It uses Libsys Software, which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all the library activities. It is a lively place of the institute providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes discovery and scholarship.

It has a rich collection of over10,000 books, 200 video/audio cassettesand 1000 DVD/CD-ROMs on different subjects such as Business Management, Hotel Management and Information Technology. It houses 200 national and international journals. The LRC provides the facility to all users to browse the library collection through online catalogue-OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). The LRC has also membership of different associations (ILA, MANLIBNET etc.) and libraries of Delhi/NCR.

The mission of James W. Olson Learning Resource Centre is to serve as the intellectual platform and facilitating resource of the institution, providing high quality academic and research materials, services and gateways to information to meet the needs of IIMT communities.

Vision

Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is the intellectual heart of IIMT. It will strive for excellence in support for the learning, teaching and research mission of institution by:
Providing the best services, strongest collections and state-of-the –art information technologies for faculty, students and staff
Empowering users to locate, evaluate and use information available in a variety of innovative and traditional formats
Selecting, acquiring, organizing, preserving and providing access to library materials and resources
Establishing itself as a leader in information management
Fostering a work place culture where library staffs are valued for their knowledge & contributions and responsible to the needs of institution in the rapidly changing information environment
Promoting creative and critical thinking through information literacy
Proactively visualizing and planning for the emerging needs of its users

Working Hours
The Library is open on all working days from 8.30AM to 6PM unless otherwise declared.
Monday to Friday 8.30AM – 6PM
Library Guidelines
Reference Section
Reference Books shall be issued overnight only (after 5.30 PM). Journals, Newspapers, Reports, Directories, and Dictionaries are not lent
Only reference textbooks should be issued for overnight. An overdue charge of Rs.50/- per book per day will be charged if the book is not returned to the library on or before 9 AM the next day
Leave all reference materials on the reference desk before leaving the library
Photocopy facility available inside the library on payment basis
Cost of Damaged/Lost Books & Periodicals
If any book or periodicals is damaged or lost by the borrower he/she will either replace it or pay double the cost of the book
If the book lost or damaged is one of the volume of a set, the member shall have to pay the cost of the whole set or replace it
Borrowing Rights
The books will be issued to the students, faculty members and staffs of IIMT on all working days from 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM
Three books to undergraduate students and four books to postgraduate students will be issued against Identity Card
Identity Card will be issued to the students from Programme Office
Students shall be issued books for 7 days only
Books may be re-issued only at the discretion of the Librarian
The Librarian can recall any book on loan prior to due date, if it is required in the library urgently
Late fee Rs.10/- per day per book will be charged on over due books. If the borrower is unable to return/renew the book on or before two months from due date, he/she will be liable to pay double the cost of the book along with 60 days late fee
The Librarian may at her/his discretion stop issue of any book
General Instructions
Personal belongings are not allowed inside the library
It is requested to all readers not to write, mark, mutilate or deface books/periodicals. In case any damage is caused to reading material, the person concerned will be required to pay double the cost of that material
Before leaving the issue counter, please check your book (s), which are borrowed by you. At the time of return, if the book is found to be damaged in any way, double cost of the book will be charged
Smoking, Eating, Drinking and using Mobile Phone, playing games in mobile/ Laptop is not permitted within the Library
All articles being taken out of the library are subject to inspection at the exit gate
All readers are required to observe discipline in the library
The Librarian is authorized to terminate the membership of any borrower if he/she is found guilty of inappropriate behaviour
It is the responsibility of every borrower to keep the Identity Card in safe custody, in case of loss immediate report should be made to the programme office
Before leaving the institution a "No Dues certificate" from the library has to be acquired
Readers should not put books back into the shelves once taken out for consultation and should leave these on the reading tables
Mobile phones should be switched off before entering the library. Any violation will result in confiscation of the instrument and a fine of Rs. 500/-
