James W. Olson Learning Resource Centre has providing the following services and facilities to IIMT communities. Circulation All students, staffs and faculty members of IIMT can borrow books from the library. Undergraduate students can borrow 03 books and postgraduate students can borrow 04 books from the library against Identity Card for 7 days only. If the user fails to return or renew the book on or before the due date then a late fee of Rs.10/- per day per book is levied. Cataloguing It acts as a guide between users and books. It helps the user to locate titles on racks. It consists of detailed history/ bibliographic description (e.g Title, Author, Publisher, Year, pages etc.) of a particular Book/Reading material. Catalogue cards are arranged alphabetically in three ways: A. By Title B. By Author Surname C. By Subject The same can be accessed online via the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). Inter Library Loan Learning Resource Centre (LRC) provides the inter library loan facility to IIMT users. A book not available in IIMT library can be borrowed from other libraries. Contact the Librarian in such cases. Reprography Photocopy facility managed by a private operator is available inside the library on payment basis. A Scanner is also available inside the library for scanning the documents. Reservation All library members can reserve the books which are issued. This facility is available through online catalogue (OPAC). Search your books through OPAC which you want to borrow. Check the status of the particular book, if this book is issued to any other user click on the reserve and enter your Roll No. (Without first Zero)/ Employee ID number. New Addition List The new addition list of books is available through online catalogue (OPAC). You just click on the “new addition” icon available at OPAC. It will displayed the new addition of books since last 15 days. Online database The library also provides access to online databases such as: I. Proquest (http://proquest.umi.com/login) One of the world's first electronic databases, PROQUEST has been a premier source of business information for more than 30 years. The database contains fulltext, abstract/index of articles from thousands of journals that help researchers track business conditions, trends, management techniques, corporate strategies, and industry-specific topics worldwide. II. EBSCO-Hospitality & Tourism Complete (http://search.ebscohost.com/) Hospitality & Tourism Complete covers scholarly research and industry news relating to all areas of hospitality and tourism. This collection contains more than 828,000 records, with coverage dating as far back as 1965. There is full text for more than 490 publications, including periodicals, company & country reports, and books. Full-text periodicals include Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, Current Issues in Tourism, Hotel & Motel Management, International Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Ecotourism, Journal of Leisure Research, Journal of Sport Tourism, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Leisure Sciences, Leisure Studies, Nation's Restaurant News, Restaurant Business, Tourism & Hospitality Research, and many more. Sources are both domestic and international in range and scope, with material collected from countries and regions such as Canada, Australia, Europe and Asia. III. Capitaline Plus (www.capitaline.com) Capitaline Plus is an offline/online corporate database of Indian companies. Database of more than 10,000 Indian companies. Extensive financial ( 5 to 10 years) and non-financial information, share prices, charts and news. Extensive data on every Company. Bio-data, Collaborators, Expansion Plans, Shareholding Patterns, 10-year Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Schedules & Notes to Account, Fund Flows, Financial Ratios. Also, full text of Director's Reports, Auditor's Report and extensive news clippings IV. Indiastat (http://www.indiastat.com) Indiastat.com provides an oceanic depth of India-specific socio-economic statistical facts and figures culled from various secondary level authentic sources. Over half-a-million pages of statistical data have been qualitatively analysed, condensed and presented in a user-friendly format. This exhaustive and methodically compiled data can easily be accessed within three or four clicks. The data can be downloaded in MS-Excel/HTML formats by institutional and corporate users. Academicians, researchers and professionals in marketing, finance, socio-economic studies and a host of other disciplines, will find Indiastat.com an extremely useful virtual resource for their India-centric information needs. Internet facility The internet facility is available inside the library. It is connected through Wi Fi. User can use the internet on his/her laptop through Wi Fi. Library has a multimedia room, where users can use internet, audio/video materials and access online/off-line databases. Reference Service The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, technical data, almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, CD -ROMs, Audio and Video cassettes, etc. Reference books are marked “RR”. The Reference Section also houses videos and DVDs. The user of IIMT library can view videos and DVDs at Audio/Video rooms from 9 AM to 6.30PM on all working days. Readers may approach the Reference Desk for information or any assistance in the use of the Library Collections and Services. Users may also contact at circulation counter for access of CD ROM-based services and web-based services. User Awareness Programme The library takes an active part in the orientation programme organized by the institute for the benefit of new students in the beginning of academic year. They are taken around the library to familiarize them with various resources and services available for them. Training sessions are also organized whenever a new product or service is introduced. Any user desiring to know more about library resources and service or to learn how to use a particular resource like OPAC, e-journals, databases etc. should contact Librarian. |
